I’m living in Brasilia, Brasil on a three month assignment with The Nature Conservancy. I am working with the Central Savannas program of TNC to help protect parts of the nearly million square miles of the most biodiverse tropical grasslands and dry forests in the world. I hope to write about my experiences in conservation as well as my day to day experiences living in this foreign place.

the pics are awesome! and the maps give real context, too. The ground looks really dry but storm clouds appear to be hovering above, and I you said it rains everyday there. What’s the (local) ag situation like there?
Thanks so much for getting this set up and for sharing: it’s a welcome adventure to look through this amidst a day-at-the-desk!
love ya!

This is awesome Brad! What a great idea – and funny too (who knew?). Just one question: what do they call a Quarter Pounder w/cheese there? ha ha
Can’t wait to read more…

Brad,
WOW.. how lucky are you! We were happy to hear from you (thinking that you would just be here in the states…). Sounds like you are getting used to things and all is going well. Caleb is growing like a weed, he’s 17 months old now. We are leaving for vacation tomorrow, without Caleb, he will be staying with my parents 2 days and Josh’s parents 2 days.
Have fun, and I look forward to reading all about your adventure. Next time you’re in town, let us know!
